manikantareddy.g@outlook.comHow do I add photos?
Store photos or videos in a folder in Files. In FolderView, tap Add Folder and choose that folder using Apple's folder picker. Wait for preparation to finish, then open the album. FolderView reads the original files without importing them into Apple Photos.
Why is an iCloud folder taking time to load?
Files stored only in the cloud must be downloaded before they can be displayed. Check your connection and try opening the file in Files. Downloaded local files can be viewed offline; files that have not downloaded require access to their provider.
My folder is disconnected or files are missing
Confirm the folder still exists in Files and that its provider is available. Use Reconnect Folder if access has been lost. Refresh or rescan the album after adding, renaming, moving, or deleting files outside FolderView. Enable subfolder scanning if the media is inside nested folders.
What is the difference between removing an album and deleting media?
Removing an album disconnects it from FolderView and does not delete its folder or files. Deleting a photo or video deletes the original file in Files after a confirmation warning. FolderView does not provide a recovery service for deleted originals.
Where are my favorites and videos?
Favorites references media you have marked across connected folders. Videos brings together indexed videos from those folders. Neither collection makes full-resolution copies. If an original becomes unavailable, reconnect its folder or refresh the album.
Which formats work?
FolderView uses Apple's media frameworks to display supported images and videos, commonly JPEG, PNG, HEIC, MP4, and MOV. Compatibility depends on the file's format, codec, condition, and your iOS version. Full Live Photo pairing and playback are not supported.
Does configuration backup back up my photos?
No. Export/import and optional iCloud configuration sync preserve supported organization settings, such as album names, favorites, and scanning preferences. They do not back up original media. Folder permissions are device-specific, so you may need to reconnect folders after restoring or changing devices.
Why does Save to Photos request permission?
Only when you choose Save to Photos, FolderView requests permission to add selected media to Apple Photos. It does not need permission to browse your Photos library.
